Who we are
A studio that draws and a studio that builds.
Archethos works across architecture, interiors, Vastu consultancy, construction and renovation from Lucknow and Kushinagar.
Most projects have to assemble those disciplines from separate parties, and most of what goes wrong happens in the gaps between them — a detail that was drawn one way and priced another, a decision made on site that nobody carried back to the plan. We hold them together instead, which is less a philosophy than a practical answer to how buildings actually get built.
From the first sketch to the finished space, Archethos brings architecture, interiors, Vastu guidance and construction together under one vision.

To carry a project from the first site visit to the final fixing without it changing hands — so the plan that gets built is the plan that was drawn, and the person answering a question at the wall is the person who detailed it.

To leave Lucknow and Kushinagar with houses and workplaces that hold up — planned around daylight, orientation and daily use rather than around what photographs well, and detailed so the parts nobody looks at outlast the parts everybody does.

From the studio
Why we work this way.
Most of what goes wrong on a building site was decided months earlier, on paper, by someone who was never going to be there when it was built. A detail gets drawn one way and priced another. A question comes up at the wall on a Tuesday and gets answered by whoever is standing closest.
We set the studio up to close that gap. The same people who read the site and drew the plan are the people coordinating the build, which means a decision made on site is made against the design rather than around it. It is a slower way to start a project and a considerably faster way to finish one.
If you are planning something — a house, a workplace, a renovation of a building you already own — tell us about the site before you tell us about the brief. The plot usually answers half the questions on its own.

Studio philosophy
A building is onlyas good as thedecisions nobodywas watching.
The parts of a project that get the most attention are rarely the parts that determine how it feels to live in. A junction detailed properly, a corridor that gets daylight, a plan that puts the kitchen where the household actually needs it — none of these photograph particularly well, and all of them outlast the ones that do.
